SUMMARY:5 day UK Tour 2024
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand… It’s another opportunity to join our intrepid aviators as we again take to the air for another EPIC UK Tour! \nThis 5 day trip circumnavigates the British Isles taking a coastal route. Departing from Elstree on day one we head south to Isle of Wight then west making Cornwall our first stop. Day two we head north to Wales including the Mach Loop and of course Snowdon. Day three sees us sightseeing the north west coast\, following a historic railway through The Lake District and into Cumbria. Day four is our most ambitious of all as we venture to The Highlands! We scale Ben Nevis\, search for Nessie in The Lochs and fly along the West coast of Scotland and back across the border. On the last day its seaside central as we follow the east coast all the way down to Felixstowe before heading west again and back up to Elstree.  \nSuitable for all from seasoned flyer to PPL student (each heli will have an instructor on board) and you will typically fly 4-5 hours a day. We will be taking some well deserved R&R each night at the UK’s finest country house hotels with incredible stops in between; both for fuel\, food and fun!  \nInterested? DESCRIPTION:This is a REAL ROTORHEAD trip! The Helicopter Museum is the largest dedicated Helicopter Collection in the world with over 100 helicopters on display. Exhibits include two of the Queen’s Royal Flight helicopters\, the current world speed record holder G-LYNX\, a Vietnam Veteran Huey and a Russian Hind Gun Ship. \nOut of Elstree SW towards Marlow and Henley upon Thames continuing westbound over Reading and through RAF Benson MATZ turning at Newbury Racecourse\, over Devizes remaining south of Bristol and to fly over one UK’s famous geographical landmark Cheddar Gorge! From there it’s NW to Weston Super Mare and the Heli Museum where we will be marshalled on to their substantial helipad by their band of volunteer ground handlers.  Lunch at the Cafe\, tour the museum and visit the restored WWII Pilots Block and Weston Aviation Exhibition detailing Weston’s aviation history. \nIf you are currently learning to fly our student trips are great practise for navigation\, straight and level flight and radio work as well of course as being jolly good fun! DESCRIPTION:Looking for a mini flying adventure? Why not join us for our 2-Day trip to The Lakes. Starting early on Wednesday we fly north through Luton Zone to Northampton\, Althorp routing between Birmingham and East Midlands. On to Alton Towers via Jodrell Bank where we great a fabulous view of the Lovell Telescope. Through the Manchester CTR\, Haydock Race Course and Blackpool to refuel. Following the coastline to Morecambe Bay and then The Lakes where we will stop for a spot of ‘afternoon tea’. After touring The Lakes; Windermere\, Coniston Water\, Ullswater etc. and Cumbrian mountains; Scafell Pike among others\, we fly to our hotel for food\, after dinner planning for day two and of course a well earned sleep. In the morning we will head to Carlisle Airport to refuel\, head south following the Carlisle to Settle Railway line through the stunning Yorkshire Dales and see the famous Ribblehead Viaduct. From The Dales to The Pennines and on to Sheffield then Nottingham City Airport for lunch. DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand… It’s another opportunity to join our intrepid aviators as we again take to the air for another EPIC UK Tour! \nThis 5 day trip circumnavigates the British Isles taking a coastal route. Departing from Elstree on day one we head south to Isle of Wight then west making Cornwall our first stop. Day two we head north to Wales including the Mach Loop and of course Snowdon. Day three sees us sightseeing the north west coast\, following a historic railway through The Lake District and into Cumbria. Day four is our most ambitious of all as we venture to The Highlands! We scale Ben Nevis\, search for Nessie in The Lochs and fly along the West coast of Scotland and back across the border. On the last day its seaside central as we follow the east coast all the way down to Felixstowe before heading west again and back up to Elstree.  \nSuitable for all from seasoned flyer to PPL student (each heli will have an instructor on board) and you will typically fly 4-5 hours a day. We will be taking some well deserved R&R each night at the UK’s finest country house hotels with incredible stops in between; both for fuel\, food and fun!  \nInterested? SUMMARY:Student Trip to Le Touquet Part Deux Spring 2022
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday 15th March we are doing a second trip to one of our favourite destinations… Le Touquet! What better way to enjoy the Spring than with a hop across the channel to France. \n\n\n\nLe Touquet is a popular destination with PPL holders and students as the trip provides some incredible opportunities to hone your piloting skills; planning\, navigation\, radio\, crossing water and the list goes on. \n\n\n\nIf you’ve not been to Le Touquet before it’s located at the northern tip of France meaning it is easily accessible from the UK with some fabulous views along the way. The airport is only a short bike ride from the town (taxis are available) where you’ll find a beautiful beach and plenty of restaurants and shops. We will lunch at Le Matisse (a Flying Pig favourite) followed by a walk along the beach or a browse the shops and an ice cream for the brave! Once ‘fuelled’ we’ll head back to the airport and home to Blighty! \n\n\n\nTo book your place on this trip or if you have any questions about the trip please give us a call or email training@flyingpighelicopters.co.uk
