“Today I achieved the first step in my lifelong dream and ambition of becoming a helicopter pilot. It may have taken over four decades to start this journey, but it was worth the wait. Today I passed my PPL(H). The happiness I’m feeling is a thousand times better than I could have imagined. If you have a dream, then go out there and fight for it. Just make sure you get up more times than you are knocked down. It’s worth the pain to get to the day you look in the mirror and tell yourself, I’ve done it. I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone at Elstree Helicopters for all their support over the last 18 months. I look forward to continuing my hour building and the day trips with my fellow PPL(H) holders, students, current and new and anyone who wants to join me during my hour building, although you may be asked to pay for lunch!”- Capt Tony Rutt
