“After finally mastering the hover, which was a lot harder than I’d expected, the next major milestone was my first solo.  With the air law exam out of the way, the unseasonal weather seemed to have other ideas, instead doing the DVE, UIMC and lost practices!  At last, the wind dropped, the sun came out and I spent the morning fine tuning my landings.  When the moment came and Paul got out of the heli, I was actually quite relieved – I knew I would get round the circuit without the engine or hydraulics mysteriously failing!  An amazing day, never to forget, and with some great photos to remember it with.”
