FREE Ground School – Meteorology
1 March 2022 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Dear *|FNAME|*
We hope you enjoyed last week’s session on Operational Procedures was great to have Super Sue attend in the flying school – just let me know if you’d like to join in person. Next up, after our recent wild weather it seems rather apt that on Tuesday 1st March we will be focusing on Meteorology at the usual 18:00-20:00
According to the Met Office’s Meteorological Glossary, Meteorology is “the science of the atmosphere… embracing both weather and climate. It is concerned with the physical, dynamical and chemical state of the earth’s atmosphere (and those of the planets), and with the interactions between the earth’s atmosphere and the underlying surface.”
Well that’s a lot to cover in just 2 hours! For pilots, being able to be able to understand the nature of and how weather develops is essential. It gives you the ability to anticipate the weather and how it may affect you, your aircraft and of course the flight itself. In this MET session will focus on creating a pre-flight MET briefing, Cloud Formations, Thunderstorms, Decoding TAFs and METARs and what to do if you are caught out by the weather.
Please RSVP via email to training@elstreehelicopters.co.ukand Capt. White will send an invitation link to meet in our Virtual Crew Room via ‘ZOOM’
If you haven’t been before then why not give it a try! Whether you are currently training, a qualified pilot or perhaps you just share our love of helicopters you can escape into our virtual crew room and enjoy a couple of hours of pilot chat and hopefully learn something too!
